"The Loop" is a blues-rock band named after a famous instrumental song of Rory Gallagher, who is the most important source of inspiration for the band. Normally about half of the set consists of Rory Gallagher tunes. The other half is own material.
Since 1997 "The Loop" has been doing an annual Rory-Gallagher-Tribute in their hometown.
The Style
Like it used to be Rory Gallagher's style, the music is played very dynamically and depends mostly on the interaction between the band and the audience. Every gig is a unique event. You will enjoy the playing of "The Loop" best with a certain degree of loudness. Anyway, if necessary "The Loop" is able to play at a lower volume level.

The Loop has a new drummer. It is Vladimir Jahn. The 1st Rory Gallagher Tribute in Göttingen back in 1997 he played with THE LOOP. Everybody, owning the "Live-CD" from that gig "The Loop & Friends: Live in Göttingen '97 - A Tribute to Rory Gallagher" can hear how good he fits into the band.

"Die Musik von Rory Gallagher hat sich die Göttinger Formation The Loop auf die Fahne geschrieben. Benannt nach einem Song von Gallagher, werden dessen Songs auf "Had a good time" allerdings nicht platt nachgespielt. Vielmehr besteht das Programm nahezu ausnahmslos aus Nummern von Volkhard Schuster (voc, guit), der sich lediglich am Vorbild orientiert (und dem sogar ähnlich sieht!). Musikalisch geht das Konzept durchaus auf."
